Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Nigeria, Says His Resolve to Build Prosperous Nation Is Stronger

ABUJA – Monday, November 2, 2026

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to building a prosperous Nigeria, pledging to invest in the future of young Nigerians and pursue policies that will promote national development and shared prosperity.

The President made this known on Monday while reflecting on his recent spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia, where he performed the lesser Hajj (Umrah) and was granted the rare opportunity to enter the Holy Ka’abah in Makkah alongside members of the Nigerian delegation.

According to a statement issued by the Presidency, Tinubu expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for granting him and members of his delegation the opportunity to pray inside the sacred structure.

Speaking about his experience, the President disclosed that he prayed for wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians.

He also reflected on the responsibility that comes with political leadership, emphasising that power and authority ultimately belong to Almighty God and must be exercised with humility and a sense of responsibility.

Reaffirming his commitment to the country, Tinubu declared:

“My commitment to Project Nigeria is higher. I am determined to usher in prosperity and fully develop the country, consistent with the wish of Allah and the support of the people.”

The President expressed optimism about Nigeria’s economic direction, describing the country’s economic foundation as solid and its emergence from a difficult period as encouraging.

He further stressed the importance of investing in young Nigerians, noting that the decisions taken by present leaders would determine the future of generations to come.

“We need to build a future for our youth. If we don’t invest in their future, how do we want to be remembered as leaders 50 years from now?” he stated.

Tinubu reiterated that his administration would remain focused on strengthening the economy, expanding opportunities for young people and creating an environment where Nigerians can realise their potential.

The President’s renewed declaration comes as Nigerians continue to look forward to improved economic conditions, better opportunities and sustainable national development.
